Kano Pillars wins Nigerian Basketball league

Kano Pillars have been crowned champions of the 2013 Nigerian Basketball league season.
Pillars who last won the championship in 2010,recovered from their loss in the second day of the playoff finals to defeat Union Bank on the final day and win the tournament.
The Stallions Boys pushed Pillars all the way,but it was the team from the Savannah Conference who sustained their lead through out all the four quarters to win 86-75.
Markmentors who defeated Kano Pillars in their second game on Thursday,struggled to match Dodan Warriors’ intensity in the last game of the day,allowing the Lagos based team to run riot and win 79-52.
Warriors had a good time on the court but largely to the influence of Benin Republic player,Akpatchi Rolland and last season’s MVP,Uzoma Dike who both did a double double to secure third place .
By virtue of finishing in first and second positions,Kano Pillars and Union Bank will now represent Nigeria on continental club competitions.
