Some youths on Tuesday lynched a young man in Lafia, Nasarawa State, for allegedly snatching a bag containing more than N400,000 from one Musa Adagazu.

Adagazu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that he was going to deposit the money at First Bank on Jos road when the two men, riding a notorcycle, snatched the money and sped away.

``I started shouting and chasing after them before some youths in the area caught up with them and started beating them’’, he said.

He said the men were apprehended in front of another bank during which one of them was set ablaze.

``One of the suspects was burnt to death while the other was rescued and taken to an undisclosed hospital by the police.’’

The spokesman for the state police command, ASP Umar Ismaila, confirmed the incident.

He added that officers of the command were at the scene to curtail possible breakdown of law and order.

Ismaila cautioned members of the public against taking laws into their hands.
