At exactly 8:35pm last Saturday, i did my final clearance - Yipee!. I lost 4kg last week, no thanks to NYSC and making me jump round Lagos state in the name of final clearance. I'm glad its over. But as expected it didn't end without drama.

A female corp member frustrated from waiting since 8am for final clearance yelled at the LGI when she was finally ushered in for her final clearance at 7:05pm. The babe totally had no chill. She was angry that at the LGI for asking why her CD Card was scanty. The girl immediately let out the anger she has been holding in all through the service year.

She yelled. ''How can you say my card is scanty?'' , ''do you sign everyday?'' , she even went as far as ''after keeping me here since morning, you're looking for an excuse not to clear me''.

As expected, the LGI kicked her out of the office and asked her never to return.

The second drama involving the LGI happened few minutes after the first. It was super hilarious but no one dared laugh while it lasted. We just wanted to do our clearance and go home. This time the drama had to do with a donation corps members were asked to make towards the hiring of chairs. Some female corp members who were asked to donate kept asking ''why?'' . The LGI grew frustrated and burst out of her office in tears.

According to her, the girls were asking why because she thought the LGI wanted to use our money. Corps members rushed to the LGI who was crying. ''Mummy please, mummy please'', everybody begged.

''I'm not clearing you people today again'', the LGI said amidst tears. At this point corps members went on their knees and begged the LGI. Nobody wanted to waste the day at the LG and go home without final clearance.

After 15 minutes of ''Mummy sorry'', the LGI returned to her office and continued clearance.

There's always that one person who sees a business opportunity in everything. One male corp member - i should add, a Port Harcourt boy, sold his space for N2,000 just as his row was called in for final clearance.

He sold it to a guy who had just come. According to him, he had nothing to rush home to that evening after wasting the entire day at the local government. He preferred to make some money and return to the end of the queue. He said it didn't matter if he cleared by 10pm, at least he made some money that day. The good news is with N500 he sorted his way into another row ahead of me and kept N1,500 for himself. Smart Guy.

There was supposed to be drama during my own clearance but i jump am pass. When i got in to be cleared, the LGI accused me of being one of the girls who were asking why corps members were asked to contribute. I was like 'Ma i was on my seat and nowhere near where it happened''. She then said, ''Are you arguing with me?''.

I gave her my best smile and replied, ''Ma i wasn't amoung'' . She kept insisting and i just stood there smiling at her. She talked and talked and talked and i smiled non-stop. She eventually had to clear me and let me.

You're never free from my LGI until you're free- i learned that the hard way last night. We have been summoned to the LG secretariat today. I'm trying very hard not to throw giant tantrums. I'll try even harder not to badmouth anybody at the LG especially the LGI. I'll wear my best behaviour today because the Egyptians i see today i'll see them no more.
