Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Uyi Igbe, yesterday raised the alarm that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the police had perfected plans to ensure that a state of emergency is declared in Edo State.
He, however, warned that the people of the state would not be intimidated by “the Federal Might as being boasted by the PDP godfathers and leaders”, just as he called on the police to stop the blockade of the Benin City Centre in the interest of the people of the state, saying that the situation has inflicted pains on road users and businessmen in the state.
Uyi Igbe, who was addressing newsmen, lamented that the suspended lawmakers and the leadership of the PDP are using the police to “perpetrate illegalities in the state,” warning that the 15 APC lawmakers will continue to obey the rule of law in the interest of the state.
